Girl Scouts To Sell Cookies At Uppy’s Locations

Uppy’s Convenience Stores have become Girl Scout cookie central for the Richmond metro area, with the largest local Exxon and BP retailer offering up 17 of its 43 locations for area Girl Scout troops during their annual sales drive. Central Virginia Girl Scout Troops were offered space at Uppy’s locations and complimentary hot chocolate (with parental permission, of course). And to kick off the cookie season, Uppy’s President Steve Uphoff purchased 200 boxes of Girl Scout cookies earlier today with plans to send them to U.S. troops serving overseas.

 

“I am excited and honored to be supporting Girl Scout troops all across the Richmond area,” said Uphoff. “I’m confident that Uppy’s can help make this one of the best sales years the Richmond Girl Scouts have seen.”

 

“The Girl Scout Cookie Sale Program is an integral part of Girl Scouting’s Business and Economic Literacy Initiative.  The proceeds are a major funding source for the Girl Scout program in central Virginia. We are glad that Uppy’s is a business supporter that will help 16,000 Girl Scouts, ages 5-17, achieve their goals,” said Janice Williams, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Girl Scout Commonwealth Council of Virginia.

Uppy's Extends fuelperks into 2009

Uppy's will continue to partner with Ukrop's in 2009 to extend the popular fuelperks program to Richmond-area residents. Starting January 5, for every $50 spent at Ukrop's, customers will get 5 cents off per gallon at participating Uppy's locations. Uppy's & Ukrop's in Launch fuelperks!®
Designed to Save Richmonders Money on Gas

Customers will earn fuel discounts in increments of 10 cents off per gallon at 14 participating Uppy’s-operated fueling stations for every $50 they spend at Ukrop’s.

RICHMOND, VA –– Two local, family-owned and Richmond-based businesses are partnering to give Richmond residents significant discounts on fuel purchases at 14 participating local gas stations.

Officials with Uppy’s Convenience Stores, Inc. and Ukrop’s Super Markets, Inc. at a news conference today unveiled plans for a new customer loyalty program. The pilot launches on Monday, June 30 to offer Richmond-area Ukrop’s customers substantial price reductions at 14 BP and Exxon fueling stations operated by Uppy’s and its parent company Chester, Virginia-based Southside Oil. By the end of the summer, more than 30 Uppy’s-operated fueling stations will participate in the program.

Each fuelperks!® discount can be used for up to 20 gallons of gas or diesel every time you use your Ukrop’s UVC card. Once a reward is redeemed, customers start earning a new reward based on their qualifying grocery purchases at any of the 24 Richmond-area Ukrop’s locations. Customers can check their grocery receipt for their fuelperks!® balance or sign up for the program at ukrops.com/fuelperks or call 804-353-FUEL (3835).
